ASSUMABLE LIVEABOARD SLIP in the new section of Ballena Bay, Alameda- upon approval!

She is an incredible and impressive vessel.  First of all, you’re struck by the roominess and openness of the large salon and huge galley, all on the same level.  Truly the heart of this boat.  Another impressive feature of this boat is its engine room and engine set up with the triple caterpillar 3208 turbo charged diesel engines.  This allows the flexibility of economical cruising with the central engine as well as the maneuverability and power using all three engines.

This boat was commissioned to be a liveaboard cruiser or a weekend getaway luxury yacht.  You really need to see this vessel- she is a one of a kind.  Let me tell you the story of this incredible vessel.

As I was saying, the galley and salon are one of the main showstoppers on Rascal.  The galley wraps around the boat with open sight lines to the main salon, as well as, the beautiful water views.  The sparkling black granite countertops on top of the rich wood cabinetry really emphasize the “wow” factor Rascal presents.  Subzero refrigeration drawers are housed in several of these gorgeous wood drawers on the starboard side, with countertop to headliner windows framing the view.  Besides the beauty of the space, this is the largest, most functional galley I’ve ever seen on a boat.  All the appliances are high end Miele and the refrigeration drawers are SubZero.  I was amazed at the size and openness of the galley and its connection to the main salon.  The eighteen foot beam is very apparent.  The knee space under the countertop is perfect for cozying up on a stool while the drinks are being served and the food is being prepared.  The salon is beautifully appointed with its large windows and ostrich embossed wallpaper. It gives the space an Ernest Hemingway meets Tommy Bahama kind of vibe.    So, forward you go down a couple steps, past the electrical panel and you arrive at two large staterooms, two heads, the washer and dryer and the engine room with three highly efficient engines.  Guest room number one, to port is tastefully decorated in nautical blues and features a centerline queen bed, hanging closets on each side and private access to a half head.  The next stateroom is forward, past a head on each side.  This is your centerline queen with a hanging locker on each side of the entrance to the room.  Four portholes, a deck hatch opening and great headroom make this space light and airy.  The adjacent head is roomy with double sinks, a bathtub/ shower combination and a teak and holly sole.  Something really unique is, all three heads are compressed air flushers and are apparently better than the electric toilets most boats have and easier to work on should something go wrong.  Have I sparked your curiosity?  Through the starboard head, you open an extra heavy door, and voila!  You are now entering the utility area/ engine room, your washer and dryer area, your generator with sound shield and then your extra large, extra clean engine room with three engines- the center engine to be used on its own for extended long range cruising if so desired.  Or use all three, just the port and starboard engines, or whatever you like based upon your cruising conditions or desires.  Nice to have.  Now, if you go back, and head aft through the salon, you go down some curvy steps and arrive in the primary stateroom.  This is another area the boat really shines.  All the surfaces are covered in a beautiful marble which continues through to the ultra posh head, also enveloped in matching marble, glass and mirrors.  The shower is a standout feature with floor to ceiling, extra thick glass on three sides.  The sink is a contemporary stand alone bowl in clear glass atop thick marble- very nice.  The stateroom has an entire wall of mirrored closet doors in addition to a bank of cabinets and drawers lining the aft wall of the boat.  Storage is not an issue here!  An additional door accessing the cockpit is, also, a convenience.

The bridge extends almost the whole length of the boat, so it’s immense.  The possibilities are endless up there!  The steering station is vast with excellent visibility and an abundance of electronics.  Included in the electronics are two RAYMARINE GPS/Chartplotter/Radar/Fishfinders in color; a SIMRAD Autopilot Hydrolic Drive; a FURUNO VHF Radio; a DANFORTH Constellation Compass and Rascal, also, has a SEA- TEL TV at SEA AIS Transceiver Antenna and Control Panel.  She features a two person helm seat and a built in L- shaped banquet that would comfortably seat six.  There is so much room up there, the owners have placed some wicker furniture up there with comfy cushions, as well.  There is also a dinghy davit up there.  On the salon/ galley level is an extra set of controls.  And, of course, in the cockpit is a nice barbque.

She is not a new boat, but no expense has been spared being professionally maintained.  Every system has been thoroughly checked out and tuned as necessary.  So, everything is in tip top shape.   I look at the headliner, for instance.  This is not a 1987 headliner.  It looks brand new with its multitude of puck lights; the blinds are new; the carpet is new and the furniture looks new, but it’s about two years old and will be included with the boat.  What else is new, you might ask. The batteries (well,  two years old); all three props are new;  all the canvas and eisenglass are three years old and the beautiful floors were sanded down and refinished.   Rascal is in excellent condition and she is in move in or cruise in condition.
