The boat has now been stored out of the water for more than a year.  Accordingly, she should receive fresh bottom paint before launching, but the underlying barrier-coat work has already been completed.

A proper cruising boat deserves proper ground tackle, and this Alajuela has been equipped accordingly.

This is substantial ground tackle appropriate to a vessel intended for cruising rather than simply moving between marina slips.

In 2019, an integrated GPS,VHF and AIS system was installed, bringing important navigation and communications capability aboard.

Also included with the vessel are new speed, depth and wind instruments still in their boxes, ready for installation by the next owner.

The standing rigging was replaced in 2019, an important consideration for anyone evaluating an offshore cruising yacht.

Also included is a new Schaefer 2100 roller-furling system that has never been installed.  This gives the next owner the opportunity to complete the installation as part of recommissioning rather than inheriting another aging furling system.
